South Bay Gallery held a children's craft event on Monday July 7

where happy participants created stretchy beaded lizards. The instructor was Diana Brugos. As an operative for Operationsockmonkey.com, Diana has facilitated the creation and delivery of sock monkeys internationally to children living in distressed situations.

She conducts workshops at schools and libraries and has taught women's groups in Nepal. She makes recycled bicycle inner tube jewellery, beaded and yarn wear as well as mixed materials garden art, most notably, her concrete rhubarb leaves. Acting is her other passion - theatre, film, music videos, student projects, web series and even background work.

Her favourite credit is the ice cream licking church lady in Hedley's "Anything" music video. Since retirement from the 9 to 5, she has been able to fully explore her creative side. Diana welcomes opportunities to encourage others to be creative and works at various children's crafting events.
